Quantitative Analyst · Software Engineer

Uppsala, Sweden

Profile

Quantitative analyst and software engineer with an Engineering Physics background from Uppsala University and over seven years of industry experience. Currently developing sports pricing models in C++ at Kambi, building on several years of designing and operating high-load, cloud-native Java services for the company's sportsbook and Bet Builder products.

Experience

Kambi

Sweden

Quantitative Analyst

Jan 2026 – Present
  • Develop and maintain sports models in C++ used for pricing in the Kambi sportsbook.
  • Work on sports modelling together with traders and fellow quantitative analysts.

Software Developer

May 2021 – Dec 2025
  • Bet Builder (Same Game Parlay): Java microservices (Spring Boot, Vert.x) serving high traffic on EKS across multiple AWS regions; REST and Kafka communication; deployment via Helm and ArgoCD. Worked closely with sports and trading experts and quantitative analysts.
  • Calculation Server: ECS-based Python (Uvicorn) service executing binary sports models developed by quants; CI/CD with GitHub Actions and Terraform.
  • Legacy migration: Split the sportsbook monolith into domain services and migrated large data volumes from Oracle to PostgreSQL under a zero-downtime policy.
  • Operations & FinOps: Observability with Grafana, Prometheus, Loki and Micrometer; right-sized autoscaling and tracked costs with Vantage and AWS Cost Explorer; on-call rotation for owned components.

Aurora Innovation

Uppsala, Sweden

Software Developer

Feb 2019 – May 2021
  • Developed teleQ, a task-management and communication platform for Swedish primary health care: a Java (Jetty, MongoDB) core with microservices for telephony, SMS, video calls, billing and BankID authentication.
  • Built the reporting service (Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, AngularJS).
  • Automated deployments with Ansible playbooks and Fabric (Python).
  • Supervised Master's thesis students.

Education

Uppsala University

2012 – 2018

MSc Engineering Physics — Computational Science

  • Master's thesis (Aurora Innovation): workflow prediction with deep learning (LSTM), with Bayesian optimisation of network hyperparameters.
  • Bachelor's thesis (Dept. of Scientific Computing): multigrid preconditioner for deal.II.
